Tammy Stoops, Biblical Counselor

Tammy Stoops

Tammy Stoops was born in Gillette, Wyoming and is blessed to be the fourth generation of her family to be raised in Campbell County. After graduating from Campbell County High School, Tammy went on to attend the University of Wyoming, where in 1986 she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Upon earning her degree, Tammy returned to Gillette where she was hired as an elementary education teacher. Throughout her teaching career, Tammy taught at Meadowlark, Rozet and Pronghorn Elementary schools

After nine years of teaching, Tammy felt led to leave the field of education to become a full-time mother. Tammy and her husband, Evan, have four children, and it was after much prayer that they decided to home school. Tammy spent the next several years at home with her children, teaching them and spending precious time watching them grow.

In 2001, Tammy began taking the Lay Discipleship training classes through Christian Life Ministries. Upon completing all of the four levels, and after seeking direction from God as to how He wanted her to use this training, Tammy joined the staff at Set Free Ministries in 2004. Since that time, Tammy has attended many classes and conferences in order to enrich and enhance her training as a lay counselor.

Tammy has been forever changed by the truths that she has learned throughout her training, and it is this healing and growth in the Lord that has intensified her desire to walk alongside others as they seek to be set free through the work of Christ. Tammy and Evan reside in Gillette, along with their children that are not currently attending college elsewhere. It is in her daily life that Tammy seeks to walk in her true identity in the Lord and to disciple others in knowing their identity as well. John 8:32 - "And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free!"
